Benefits of bathing
Giving your dog a good thorough wash in our hydro-bath helps cleanse and clean both the dog’s skin and coat, keeping your dog smelling cleaner and fresher for longer, then you would achieve at home. We have a wide range of shampoos and conditioners for individual coats and skin types. The whole time we are grooming it allows us early recognition of any lumps, bumps, warts, moles or parasites.
Nails
We do check and cut toe nails when every dog is in for a groom, this is all part of our service with no extra cost on the appointment. You can have an appointment for just toe nails to be done with a charge of £10.00 plus vat.
Anal Glands
We are able to check and release anal glands if requested by the owner and vets have advised us to do so. A vet should firstly identify if regular expression needs doing and advice how frequent this should be done; this will prevent unnecessary interference of the anal sac. There is no charge for this if your dog is in with us for a groom however, if your dog is having on-going problems with his/her anal glands then you should consult your vet. There will be a emailed consent form to sign if we are expressing them.
Clipping, scissoring & styling
We are qualified to style a wide range of breeds in pet trims or to the owner’s requirements. When you come in with your dog for an appointment we will advise and discuss with you what different styles and a lengths there are that suits you and your dogs needs. As highly experienced and trained groomers with we 'SPECIALISE ' IN HAND SCISSORING. This enables us to be creative with angulation working with your dogs conformation achieveing any length required to a high standard. For us to achieve this you will have to maintain your dogs coat between grooms or come in for more regular visits.
Removal of parasites
We are able to remove external parasites from your dog. If your dog has fleas we are able to remove them by using an insecticidal shampoo. This will only kill the fleas on your dog, you MUST treat your dog with flea treatment and MUST treat your house. There may be an additional charge for flea treatement of £5.00 plus VAT. We will have to treat our salon with insecticidal spray after your visit. Please inform us if you notice any fleas on your pet before your appointment.
We are also able to remove ticks with a tick remover. Please DO NOT attempt this at home unless you have the correct tool and knowledge to do so. When tick removing YOU MUST make sure that the whole tick is removed including the head; if the head if left insure your dog it may become aggravating, sore and may even get infected You MUST go to your VET immediately.
Teeth cleaning
This isn't a service we offer at the grooming Centre. Regular cleaning of the teeth should be done at home to prevent the build up of plaque. If your dog needs some dental treatment you should seek advice from your vets.
The area you need to pay attention to when cleaning at home is the area below the gum line surrounding the teeth with regular brushing.
Any procedure to remove plaque should be done under anaesthetic by a vet, to avoid the dog being uncomfortable or causing any periodontal damage. Cleaning only visible tartar above the gum line is not effective and could disguise dental issues.
We can check your dogs teeth for you but any dental works need to be done by a vet.
Ear cleaning and plucking
We are able to offer ear plucking and cleaning on breeds that require this. We only pluck ears if we think its necessary and the dogs ear canal is not inflamed or irritated. The owner must seek vet's approval for groomer to do this. There will be an emailed form for you to sign before the procedure.
